We are a family of four who joined an 3d2n open trip aboard the Devita Rusdi. Was apprehensive at first because I've had several experiences of live aboard in different parts of the world, but from the beginning we were already impressed by the cleanliness of the boat and the hospitality of the crew. The 1D trip uses a speedboat for a full day, visiting the Komodo National Park from 6 am to 6 pm.

The trip is generally safe for older people, but participants should be aware that the itinerary includes physical activities such as snorkeling and hiking. Those unable to engage in physical activities can stay on the boat.

Open trips are scheduled on weekends to accommodate those who typically take time off during the weekend.

As for fishing, since our trip takes place in the Komodo National Park area which is protected by the government, fishing is an activity prohibited by local authorities.

To meet with the Komodo Dragon, the actual difference between Komodo Island and Rinca Island is that, on Komodo Island, participants will trek through the forest where they can see the Komodo up close, accompanied by a local guide and ranger. On Rinca Island, participants can observe the Komodo in their natural habitat, but the area has been developed by the government. Participants can view the Komodo from elevated bridges.
